Welcome to Canvas Help. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Canvas Help browser extension, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using Canvas Help, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Description of service

Canvas Help is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox that helps students maintain focus during online exams by managing how their browser handles background activity monitoring. The extension operates entirely within the user's local browser environment using standard browser extension APIs. It does not access, communicate with, or modify any external servers, databases, or third-party systems.

Account registration and security

To use Canvas Help, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activities or actions under your account. We use bcrypt to hash your password securely, but you must take reasonable steps to protect your login credentials. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, you must notify us immediately at support@canvashelp.app.

Free Access

Canvas Help is currently offered as a free service for students. No payment or credit card is required to use the service.

Acceptable use policy

You agree to use Canvas Help only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use the Service to:

Canvas Help is a browser utility tool. Users are responsible for ensuring their use of any browser extension complies with the policies of their institution or platform. Canvas Help does not access or modify any external servers or databases.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms or abuse the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service and request data deletion by contacting us.

Changes to terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable international law. Disputes resolved through good faith negotiation or binding arbitration.
